Chief Functionary
The chief functionary of SEVAK, Mr Parvez Haneef, is a social worker and criminal lawyer of Pilibhit. He has over 30 years’ professional experience. He is especially interested in social justice and welfare, andragogy and pedagogy, women and child development and empowerment, and forest and wildlife protection in terai forests. He is now counted as a veteran socio, economic and wildlife activist.
Mr Haneef has been nominated in various government advisory committees, including Public Health Advisory Committee, PNDTT Advisory Committee and District Peace Committee, by the District Magistrate of Pilibhit for his contribution in social sector.
An organisation builder, Mr Haneef is managing New Montessori Public School, which is providing quality education to about 500 children, mainly those who dropped out at some point during their schooling. He is a faculty of Paryavaran Sudhar Sansthan, formed by retired forest officials, social workers, wildlife specialists and enthusiasts.
His biggest contribution is to establish Samaj Kalyan Evam Vikas Adhyayan Kendra (SEVAK) in 1986, after he attended seven days’ ToT (training of trainers) for Urban and Rural Development Schemes and Programmes of the Central and State Governments.
Mr Haneef was born in a well-educated nationalist Indian Dalit Muslim family on March 10, 1953. He did his MSW and LLB from Lucknow University. After education, he is chose to work from his home town Pilibhit.
